Walla Walla Valley Winemakers Share Itineraries for the Fall Season

Travel to Walla Walla this fall with an insider’s guide to the Valley’s best kept secrets and celebrated favorites, all curated by local winemakers themselves.

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (August 21, 2019) – The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance (WWVWA) has unveiled the third annual WWander Walla Walla Valley Wine series of curated winemaker itineraries. The WWVWA partnered with Walla Walla Valley winemakers and winegrowers to create custom itineraries focused on sharing their favorite Walla Walla spots, including prized wineries, eateries and attractions, all while revealing tips and tricks along the way.

Walla Walla’s lively arts and culture scene, culinary treasures, outdoor recreation and vibrant wine community has grown over the past decade and continues to attract the interest of both wine lovers and travelers alike. The Walla Walla Valley is home to the highest concentration of wineries in Washington, close to 3,000 acres of vineyards and panoramic views of the Blue Mountains.

“The Walla Walla Valley is a special place known for its small-town charm and world-class wine country experience,” says Robert Hansen, Executive Director of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance. “Travelers love to do what the locals do and who better to recommend a weekend full of activities than the winemakers that call the Walla Walla Valley home? These unique itineraries offer a personal touch during one of the most beautiful times of year – fall. From the beauty of harvest to the intimacy of Holiday Barrel Tasting Weekend, it is a wonderful time to wander the Walla Walla Valley.”

This year’s program includes eight new itineraries available Thursday through Sunday from October 3 to December 15, 2019. Visitors can register for the itinerary of their choice at WallaWallaWine.com/WWander beginning August 20. Registrants gain access to the full itinerary and receive program perks, including special tasting fees and a 10% discount on a purchase of two or more bottles* upon check-in at the itinerary author’s host winery. Registration is free, and the itinerary is a pay-as-you-go experience. *Mobile check-in is required at the itinerary author’s winery to receive benefits.

“There is no better way to experience this town than “WWandering” through it, finding gems unveiled by the recommendations made for you from those who know it intimately,” says Hansen. “Taking part in this journey allows visitors to indulge their interests, while hopefully discovering a few surprises along the way.”
