SOUTHSIDE SNOW DAY RETURNS WITH WINTER FUN, WINE, AND COMMUNITY SPIRIT

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (December 19, 2024) – Walla Walla Valley Wine, in collaboration with the Southside Wine District, is excited to announce the return of Southside Snow Day on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Set in the picturesque winter landscape of Dusted Valley Winery, 980 Merlot Drive, this event promises a delightful day of adventure, exceptional wines, and culinary indulgence, all in the spirit of community and giving back.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Southside Snow Day will feature 19 participating wineries, each showcasing two of their latest releases, available for purchase as well. “We can’t wait to turn Dusted Valley into a retro-themed winter wonderland and showcase the exceptional wines of the Southside Wine District,” says Abby Marett, Hospitality Manager of Dusted Valley. “We’ll have vineyard snowshoeing adventures, and cozy bites by the bonfire – a fun way to enjoy the magic of the Walla Walla Valley in winter!”

Attendees can savor wines from Southside producers, including: Amavi Cellars, Balboa Winery, Canvasback, Caprio Cellars, Deux Soldats, Ducleaux Cellars, Dusted Valley, Floating Balance Cellars, Gifford Hirlinger, Grosgrain Vineyards, Isenhower Cellars, KINHAVEN, Mongata Winery, Northstar Winery, Patterson Cellars, Pepper Bridge Winery, Sleight of Hand Cellars, Valdemar Estates and Zerba Cellars.

The Salted Mill will provide soup and sandwich pairings for the wine offerings, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

This year’s event will once again feature the popular snowshoe vineyard tours led by outdoor adventure experts, Adventure Fit, and a Sip Soiree in the cozy setting of Dusted Valley’s barrel room. Guests can embrace the retro ski theme with fun additions like a photo booth, a costume contest celebrating the best vintage ski attire, and a bottle shop where attendees can purchase their favorite wines from the event to take home. Alongside these interactive experiences, attendees will be supporting a meaningful cause: proceeds will benefit Jasper Mountain Reserve, a cherished local organization committed to preserving natural habitats and promoting outdoor education in the region.

Liz Knapke, Executive Director of Walla Walla Valley Wine, shared her thoughts on this year’s event: Southside Snow Day is our way of bringing the Walla Walla Valley wine community together to celebrate the things we love most about winter – good food, great company, and a little adventure – all set against the dramatic backdrop of snowy Blue Mountains. With a playful neon twist, this event is designed to be fun, approachable, and welcoming for everyone, whether you’re sipping wine or skipping it. For those embracing ‘Dry January’ or living a dry lifestyle, we’re thrilled to offer discounted tickets so you can still join in the fun, food, and camaraderie. Wine lovers, winter wanderers, and neon enthusiasts alike – let’s shake off the winter blues”

Tickets for Southside Snow Day are $50 and can be purchased at WallaWallaWine.com/Events. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind celebration of Walla Walla Valley Wine and wintertime cheer.
