Walla Walla, WA (November 12, 2019)– The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance announced the participating wineries for the fifth annual Reveal Walla Walla Valley wine futures auction to be held on April 20, 2020. This intimate, invitation-only auction features wholly unique, small-lot wines from the Walla Walla Valley American Viticulture Area (AVA) and the region’s sub-AVA, The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater.

“The 2019 auction yielded tremendous growth with an average lot price increase of sixty-five percent from 2018 to 2019, clearly indicating the interest to acquire these highly desirable one-of-a-kind wines,” said Robert Hansen, Executive Director of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance. “As we head into the fifth year of Reveal Walla Walla Valley, we are excited to see what the future(s) hold.”

After last year’s stunning growth, wineries are planning for the fifth annual 2020 auction with new and innovative offerings showcasing the remarkable 2018 vintage.

“2018 was a fabulous vintage for Woodward Canyon. In fact, I might say that it will be a classic Walla Walla vintage, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon,” reports Rick Small of Woodward Canyon.
“As a Reveal winemaker, I am delighted on behalf of our production team to present an extremely limited 2018 Woodward Canyon Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.  This stunning red wine is a true expression of what Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon can be! Buyers at Reveal Walla Walla Valley 2020 will have the first opportunity to taste, evaluate and procure this and other phenomenal Walla Walla Valley wines.”

2020 participating wineries include Abeja, Amavi Cellars, College Cellars of Walla Walla, Corliss, DAMA Wines, Doubleback, Dunham Cellars, Dusted Valley, Gifford Hirlinger, Gramercy Cellars, Kontos Cellars, L’Ecole N° 41, Lagana Cellars, Leonetti Cellar, Otis Kenyon Wine, Pepper Bridge Winery, Seven Hills Winery, Tamarack Cellars, Tertulia Cellars, Tranche, Valdemar Estates, Walla Walla Vintners and Woodward Canyon

The 2020 event schedule remains unchanged with an invitation-only Reserve Tasting and Welcome Dinner on Sunday, April 19 at Doubleback Winery. Monday, April 20 marks the start of the auction activities, hosted in Corliss Estate’s exquisite winery. Registrants will taste barrel samples of the lots, and bid on them during a live auction overseen for the first time by renowned auctioneer Fred Northup Jr. Interested parties can inquire with the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance at [email protected].

Proceeds from Reveal Walla Walla Valley will benefit the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization. For the second year in a row, a portion of the auction proceeds will be donated to Walla Walla Community College’s Institute for Enology & Viticulture to provide scholarships for the next generation of winegrowers and winemakers.
