IN WALLA WALLA, HISTORY IS OUR LINK TO THE FUTURE.
Over the past five years, the Washington State Wine Commission has worked with HistoryLink to document the origin stories of Washington Wine. As Walla Walla was the 2nd designated AVA in the state, a lot of our early history is the early history of our grape state. We’re thankful for this partnership, which has so far documented the stories of 4 of our founding members of the Walla Walla Valley: Norm McKibben, Gary Figgins, Rick Small, and Marty Clubb. Below, you’ll also see an in-depth feature on the early Italian immigrants, who were also crucial to the history of our wine growing region.
